Before founding Left of Creative, Bellino led efforts to advance the art and science of visualization, digital cinema and storytelling for the U.S. Navy’s NAVSEA organization. His creative and production skills have been requested by numerous government and military customers, such as ONR, NOAA, OPNAV, NRL and CNO Strategic Studies Group. His work culminated in developing a virtual studio that included the Navy’s first 4K media and visualization center. This work modernized digital media production workflows for the Navy has laid the foundation for a future collaboration platform between government, industry and academia.

VISA
The Dot-Com Boom and Online Music Sales
Bellino approached VISA with the idea of a pre-paid card sold in retail stores during the time that Napster came onto the scene. This concept and business model helped carve the way for music and entertainment sales online by those music lovers who were not old enough to have their own credit cards. This project focused on the development of a brand identity, marketing, distribution and online technology backbone that was eventually purchased by a larger financial institution.

We have been fortunate to work with several top record labels, management companies and recording artists in pop, rock and heavy metal. From music videos, television specials, commercials, documentaries and PSA's to live performances and interactive media. We continually return to our roots as music-inspired filmmakers to tell stories and inject the same passion that has burned for over two decades.

EMI / Capitol
18 Holes of Fun and Music
Artistic vision, production and creative development led to the launch of this interactive music product for EMI-Capitol Records. A self-taught guitarist, Peter Jacobsen was a founding member and lead singer of Jake Trout & The Flounders, a band he formed in the mid-80's with Mark Lye and Payne Stewart. Over a decade later, the Flounders recruited Glenn Frey, Graham Nash/Stephen Stills, Alice Cooper, Clint Eastwood, Bill Murray and a cast of characters of others to record parodies for their album. This enhanced music experience contains a wide variety of both entertaining and helpful tips from the pros and celebs.

U.S. Army
Advanced Computer Simulation and Training
This challenging visual simulation project included development, deployment and training users on the Corps Battle Simulation (CBS). CBS is the Army's premiere constructive training simulation at Corps and Division levels. It is a geographically and functionally distributed air/land warfare simulation that drives the U.S. Army training and warfighter exercises for active Army and the National Guard. The training team was responsible for developing new concepts and products that used modeling, simulation, audio/visual aids and computer graphics to support the large customer base across the U.S., Germany, Japan and South Korea.

BMG Music
Heavy Metal Legends and Lack of Comprehension
Nadir D'Priest is the legendary vocalist of Hollywood Strip Legends London, a band that helped launch the careers of Nikki Sixx, Slash, Izzy Stradlin and Blackie Lawless. Bellino and D'Priest became best of friends, as music video director and artist, during the the release of BMG/Noise Playa Del Rock. Subsequently, they teamed on a number of video and media projects, including the The Rolling Stone's Voodoo Lounge.
Chuck Schuldiner was an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist who created the band Death, a thrash metal band that was signed to Relativity/Sony Music. Schuldiner is often referred to as "the father of death metal". Schuldiner himself was modest about his part in the history of death metal, saying "I don’t think I should take the credits for this death metal stuff. I’m just a guy from a band, and I think Death is a metal band." The single Lack of Comprehesion, from the Human CD, brought Bellino to Orlando to direct the haunting tale and music video that continues to resonate with the band's following.

MITRE
MITRE Labs at the Forefront of Simulation Interoperability
Our challenge was to produce video and computer-based training products that employed state-of-the-art audio/visual techniques to support military users and operators of the joint wargaming framework known as ALSP. The Aggregate Level Simulation Protocol (ALSP) is a protocol and supporting software that enables simulations to interoperate with one another. Replaced by the High Level Architecture (simulation) (HLA), it was used by the US military to link analytic and training simulations.

Start Me Up
This partnership with Microsoft during the Windows 95 Start Me Up campaign was a double-barrel Stones blast that coincided with the Voodoo Lounge interactive release for Mac and PC. Start Me Up became a key part of the Microsoft product launch, as targeted consumers were tech-savvy individuals who also happened to be Rolling Stones devotees. Less than 5 years after the Windows 95 release, we teamed once again with Microsoft to launch one of the largest Internet plays in home service e-commerce and a co-partnership with Royal Dutch Shell. Our role involved the branding, marketing and development of one of the most sophisticated site designs on the web. "This is a great endorsement of our vision for the next generation of software and service applications and of our close cooperation with the e-business community." said Vice President of e-commerce solutions at Microsoft.

Universal Pictures
Flipper Goes Digital and the Stars come out in San Diego
Bellino produced and directed for Universal/MCA on the Flipper enhanced CD, a complement to the motion-picture soundtrack designed to educate and entertain. Billboard magazine called the Flipper Enhanced CD, "one of the few enhanced CD's that gets it right… it’s proof that thoughtful content development can result in an enhanced CD that is intriguing beyond the first play. More developers should follow the lead of Flipper.” During this time, we teamed with partners to sponsor San Diego World Film Festival. The Tim Burton film "Ed Wood" was screened to celebrate actor Martin Landau's achievements and Oscar win for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. The production of this event involved festival branding, marketing and online presence along with event production and coordination.

Training Simulation for U.S. Joint Forces
As part of the Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL) team who developed, deployed and trained users on the Joint Theater Level Simulation (JTLS), we broke ground as one of the first teams to support the military in computer simulation across all branches. The team was responsible for developing new concepts and products that used modeling, simulation, audio/visual aids and computer graphics to support the large customer base across the U.S., Germany, Japan and South Korea.

Yahtzee and Boggle Go Interactive
Bellino produced two of Hasbro’s classic game conversions; Yahtzee and Boggle, in the company’s launch to the interactive media space. GameZone reviews “… the word search puzzle game Boggle gets the deluxe treatment… Boggle is a worthy conversion of the board game classic… If you like word puzzle games and are looking for a quick, fairly addictive game, try Boggle.” With a user-friendly interface and beautiful interface and graphic designs, Yahtzee and Boggle are fun and challenging on the desktop or against opponents on the Internet.”

Stripped Down to the Stones
Bellino teamed with Second Vision New Media and Ted Mico, head of Virgin's new media division (and a long-time confidant of Mick Jagger) to direct the Rolling Stones Voodoo Lounge film segments, produce the Interactive CD title and act as new media consultant for the Stripped Enhanced CD.

Welcome to the Voodoo Lounge
The Rolling Stones Voodoo Lounge interactive CD combined the efforts of Virgin America, Second Vision New Media and GTE Interactive. Bellino was the director of the Virgin Records product praised as "Entertaining, informative, [and] unpredictable..." and promoted it diligently as an official Stones release. The Stone’s Voodoo Lounge was first-of-its-kind and groundbreaking project that would carve the way for interactive music products in the future. Bellino has carried this experience and artistic vision forward as the foundation for Left of Creative.

Royal Dutch Shell and Microsoft Ride the Cleanwave
Partnering with Royal Dutch Shell and Microsoft, we helped launch one of the largest developments in home services and e-commerce called Cleanwave. The challenge was to create a unique brand identity, marketing plan and develop one of the most sophisticated e-commerce platforms and user experiences on the web.

The Search for Sunken History
A multi-national team of marine archaeologists, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and Navy scientists, using Autonomous Undersea Vehicles (AUVs) and their on-board technologies, survey two sunken Revolutionary War era British frigates off the coast of Newport, RI. Directed by Bellino and sponsored by the Office of Naval Research, NOAA and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, this film documents the voyage of Navy technologists and marine archaeologists who found common ground during two-week demonstration of autonomous underwater vehicles. Specialists from mine warfare and marine archaeology join forces on this groundbreaking journey. The event showcased the advanced capabilities of next-generation unmanned vehicles as the teams searched the waters of Newport for historic shipwrecks from the Revolutionary War.

More Than Just Music
The Flipper soundtrack, featuring singer Shaggy and released on MCA Records, was produced to support the film's release with a variety of rich multimedia content. Billboard magazine called the Flipper Enhanced CD, "one of the few enhanced CD's that gets it right… it’s proof that thoughtful content development can result in an enhanced CD that is intriguing beyond the first play. More developers should follow the lead of Flipper.” Produced and directed by Bellino for Universal’s Bubble Factory, the disc complements the motion-picture soundtrack and contains numerous multimedia activities designed to educate and entertain young people, including seek-and find games, fascinating puzzles, and interactive tutorials and short films on the creatures of the sea.

Smithsonian
The Navy Reaches the Smithsonian
NOAA requested our film Partnership Runs Deep documentary to be included in the Ocean Today Kiosk. This exhibit was designed to be a highly dynamic, visitor-friendly experience at the Sant Ocean Hall in the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History. Ocean Today enhances museum-goers' understanding of the ocean realm through an enticing multi-media experience that illustrates both the ocean's influence on them and their influence upon the ocean.

U.S. Department of Justice
Circles and Silence
The U.S. Department of Justice engaged Left of Creative to conceptualize, design and produce an awareness campaign on opioid addiction and various recovery programs. The visual campaign includes 30 and 60 second PSA's for broadcast and a short-form documentary film for web and mobile. The film will be incorporated within DOJ school outreach programs and presentations.
